There are three places we go for Luxury shopping, and West Elm is absolutely on the list. On a recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee, we spent the day doing a little window shopping. As we move from place to place on this adventure, we are always on the hunt for stylish pieces that fit our aesthetic, and are easy to move. We found some really beautiful pieces at West Elm and we couldn’t wait to share them with you.
The West Elm Josie Coffee Table
The first thing we saw was the Josie Coffee Table (34″). Coming in at 34″ with the fluted support legs and open shelf on the bottom, this table is simply stunning.
We loved the ‘storage’ capacity it offers, as well. You could store baskets, books, throw blankets, decorative boxes, or anything you needed on the lower shelf. The table is absolutely stunning – and would look amazing in any setting from traditional to transitional to modern.
The West Elm Silky TENSEL Pick Stitch Quilt
The next item we absolutely drooled over was the Silky TENCEL Pick Stitch Quilt and Shams. Regular price is around $367, but this frequently runs on sale.
Now, there are others out there we’ve looked at – one in particular from RH – the is very similar, but the price is much higher, coming in at $635.
In my opinion, you have to look VERY closely to see the difference, and with the money you save, you can get some pretty accessories to style up.
The West Elm European Flax Linen Cotton Pick Stitch Quilt
Coming in next is the European Flax Linen Cotton Pick Stitch Quilt. I cannot tell you how beautiful this quilt is. It feels a little heavier than the TENSEL version, and I think it would be amazing in the cooler months.
The channel stitching is a bit wider than the TENCEL version, but the feel is pure luxury. Any night’s sleep under this beauty is sure to be one dreams are made of.
The West Elm Kuba Metal Black Candlesticks
These Kuba metal black candle stick holders are on point right now. They are trendy, yet timeless and classic. The ones shown here have a sturdy and heavy base so you don’t have to worry about an accidental tip over.
They are matte black and come in a few sizes. There are others Wes Elm offers in other shapes and sizes, and they would mix beautifully to make a stunning tablescape or arrangement.
The West Elm Fluted Glassware
Lastly, the fluted glassware. Obviously it was difficult to get a good photo of these due to lighting in the store, and the fact that they’re glass, but in person…OH MY WORD. The light just flickers off of them. They are so beautiful. Any table would look elegant set with these. They are simply beautiful.
If you have small children, or would prefer to use them outdoors on a patio, West Elm also has them in an acrylic version. Still beautiful, but in my opinion, you could 100% tell they were not glass.
The High Low Versions
Okay, so we don’t have all the money in the world to spend on these beauties. In my opinion, they are well worth the money, if you have the money. But if you’re looking to create the same aesthetic on a budget, here are the products we chose for ourselves. I’ll post each one side by side so you can compare quality and price.
Coffee Tables High v Low
While the Josie coffee table is absolutely stunning, the price point of $499 was a little more than we wanted to spend. We opted for a simpler version from IKEA, the Borgeby Coffee Table, coming in. at $149.00. The color of the wood is very similar, as is the wood grain. Both have support legs and a shelf beneath.
Beside the price point, the IKEA coffee table is much lighter to move, and we love the bottom shelf has contained storage versus open storage.
Quilt High v Low
While we love the versions from West Elm and RH, I mean, let’s be honest, they are FIRE, the price point, again was what kept us from adding to cart. At a difference of more than $250, this one was a simple YES in our book.
Glassware High v Low
Drinking glasses are a bit of controversial subject in our household. I like a small glass, my husband likes the plastic souvenir glasses you get at sporting events. We compromised and I bought the ones I wanted :). But I did not spend a fortune on them. In fact, this might be the steal of the year.
Candle Holders High V Low
Metal candle sticks are all the rage right now. You can find them in any style, shape, and price range. While we loved the Kuba set from West Elm, we went with the amazon version. Still stunning, but again, the stem separates from the heavy base, so they are easily packed for moving. That’s a win for us.
Choose beautifully, spend wisely
Whether you’re furnishing a house, or starting in an apartment, you can absolutely get the high end look for a lower cost. It may take a little time searching for the specifics, but the money you save in the long run will be the biggest win of all.
