Some days call for comfort food. Am I right? Saturdays are usually a comfort food kind of day around here. And since I’m not one to waste food [waste not, want not, you know] Saturdays often call for sourdough French toast. Add in a great cup of coffee, some amazing eggs, and a beautiful breakfast meat, and you start the weekend off right!

Some of you are going to ask me for a recipe, and I’m sorry to tell you, there isn’t one. I just cook these tasty treats up with love and whatever I find in the pantry. But here’s the estimated guess for today’s batch. Feel free to tweak your batch to suit your preferences!
Ingredients:

Instructions:
Mix the custard ingredients together until well combined. Soak each piece of sourdough slices until moistened on each side. Place in a medium-hot skillet with cooking spray, avocado oil, or butter (whichever you prefer). I use avocado oil in a refillable sprayer.
Cook each slice of sourdough French toast approximately 3-5 minutes per side. Serve with butter, syrup, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar (or cinnamon powdered sugar).
Start your Saturday right with a good dose of comfort food!
Whether you purchase your sourdough from the farm shop, the grocer, or make it at home with love, using up those last few slices at the end of the week is a beautiful new beginning to a fabulous weekend ahead!
