The Vette City Antique Mall in Bowling Green, Kentucky is an exciting way to spend an afternoon. Whether you’re a local looking for a way to kill time, or a road tripper needing a place to stretch your legs, Vette City Antique Mall is the place you’ll want to check out.
This local gem is at the same exit as the National Corvette Museum, and the GM Corvette Assembly Plant, and let me tell you, it offers some amazing booths – and a few interesting finds, as well.
Vette City Antiques
The building understated, but as you walk through the front door, you experience the sheer enormity of the place. It may be one of the largest antique malls I’ve ever visited. An hour of antique shopping and treasure hunts ensues. Booths range from the everyday items of yesteryear to the rare sought out items of the day. Whatever you are looking for, this place is sure to peek your interests.
From art glass to furniture, seasonal items to crafts, Vette City Antiques has it all.

Fun From the Mild to the Wild
Most of the booths in the Vette City Antique Mall carry the same items you find in other antique shopping areas. You will find old lunch boxes, collector Barbie Dolls, and antique kitchen ware.
But then, turn the corner and you will find items of great intrigue! Uranium Glass. Until a recent visit to the antique store, I had never heard of Uranium glass. Being in my early 50’s, I knew about depression glass, milk glass, and jadeite. But I had never heard, nor seen anything like this before.
Uranium glass is highly sought after by collectors and is considered a rare find. Fun fact: A report published by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 2001 stated that uranium glass is considered to be safer than household electronics. It is not recommended that you eat or drink out of uranium glass objects, as you can end up ingesting small fragments of radioactive material. That’s interesting as so many of the pieces you find are actually dinnerware, and WERE used for daily dining in their day.
If you’re looking for a good read, or you want to delve into uranium glass more deeply, here is an excellent resource.
No Nonsense Kind of Place
Vette City Antique Mall is a no nonsense kind of place – and that’s a very good thing in my opinion. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The booths are individually owned and operated, which gives each one unique charm and personality. The prices are generally reasonable, and you can always find something of interest if you look for it.
From antique books to Uranium glass, from ivory comb and brush sets to handmade candles, Vette City Antique Mall is a delight at every turn. Stop by for a visit, and if you’re there, tell them we sent you, and that we said hello!
Remember that sharing is caring, and we’ll see you soon, friend.
