Beautiful Bowling Green, Kentucky is the third most-populated city in Kentucky. The city was founded in 1798 by pioneers and was the provisional capital of Confederate Kentucky during the American Civil War. Bowling Green, Kentucky is a sweet community with small-town flavor, and a world of opportunities. Whether you’re passing through for a visit, or relocating like we did, Bowling Green has a lot to offer.
After living here for a year, we have found this little town to be extraordinarily friendly and exciting. There is always so much to do. It has been such a refreshing change of pace from living in a larger city and we love the fact that it’s totally a “car town.”

What is Bowling Green known for? The major attraction in Bowling Green, Kentucky has to be the National Corvette Museum.
Bowling Green is also home of the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers! If you’re in town at the right time, we encourage a Hilltoppers basketball, football, or baseball game. It’s a ton of fun for the entire family.
Is Bowling Green worth visiting?
Absolutely! Bowling Green has so much to offer. There is everything from the Corvette Museum, to the GM Assembly Plant, to high speed go carts. Enjoy a cave tour at Lost River Cave, visit the Mammoth Cave national park, and enjoy a flight at one of the local wineries. If you want to live like a local, plan a visit to the dairy farm for fresh ice cream, the historic rail park and train museum, and the aviation heritage park.
You can easily spend a couple of days hanging out, seeing the sights, and enjoying the small-town atmosphere.

The Civil Way Discovery Trail is a great way to see the beautiful countryside and learn about Bowling Green’s role during the American Civil War.
Barn quilts are an iconic sight in America. Bowling Green has a Barn Quilt Tour that’s pretty fun if you’re looking for leisurely drive.
Finally, the Shake Rag Historic Walking Tour is educational, named after the Shake Rag music of the the late 1800s.
What is good to eat in Bowling Green?
We have lived in Bowling Green for over a year, and have not even tapped into all the local flavors. Here are a few of our tried and true go-to places. Check back as we update this list.
For pizza, our favorite is Mr B’s Pizza & Wings. Hands down the best in town (in our opinion) and the value can’t be beat!
If you’re in need of an afternoon pick-me-up after a day of sight seeing, we recommend Spencer’s Coffee. Gorgeous coffee and a hometown feel.
In the mood for some amazing Asian cuisine? Then Tsunami is the place to be. They offer Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese flavors. Best Crag Rangoons I’ve ever had.
If Mexican is your thing, then Garcia’s is the place you’re looking for.
Craving a great steak? You cannot turn down the local Rafferty’s. The steaks can’t be beat and the service is impeccable.
